Grenaldi Jovaretti was born in Florence, Italy, in a villa perched above the Arno River, where the bells of the Duomo could be heard faintly through the open windows. His parents, heirs to a textile empire that clothed Italian nobility for generations, raised him in a world of marble floors, candlelit dinners, and long summers in coastal villas. He was their only child, groomed for a life of refinement and influence.For the first ten years of his life, Grenaldi's world was painted in warm Tuscan light.
